Today it's Kalevala Day and I want to write a few words about this epic poem.
Kalevala is the national epic of Finland and is one of the most significiant works of Finnish literature.
The first version of The Kalevala (called The Old Kalevala) was published in 1835. The version most commonly known today was first published in 1849 and consists of 22,795 verses, divided into fifty songs (Finnish: runot). The title can be interpreted as "The land of Kaleva".
The Kalevala begins with the traditional Finnish creation myth, leading into stories of the creation of the earth, plants, creatures and the sky. Creation, healing, combat and internal story telling are often accomplished by the character(s) involved singing of their exploits or desires. Many parts of the stories involve a character hunting or requesting lyrics (spells) to acquire some skill, such as boat-building or the mastery of iron making.
I also would like to tell that all myths of so many nations were interesting for me since I was a child. But especially I love Scandinavian mythology and also some Eastern myths, too.
Some days ago I've started to read The Kalevala and I think that it's really interesting! My favourite song is the second one about that how Väinämöinen came to the island and grew the plants from the seeds.

I hope that I'll finish it soon having not so much freetime, although.

Bad weather...
Hi!
Last couples of weeks the weather is just awful! All the previous week wasn't very cold, but because of the wind it seemed to be much colder. The sun wasn't shining here for a pretty long time too.
It's also very slippery outside and I've fallen last week. Nothing special, but a bit hurt. :\
Everyone wants spring to come because the heart is bothered with the cold times. ;)
Hope the warmth will come soon and sunny days will bring us more happiness!

When seasons change their way
I feel sad

Feeling the pain of lie

A Mermaid
She sings and sings
While you're counting the seconds of breathing
She prays and believes
While I'm crying wanting to escape still leaving
Living here singing her songs
Her song of a perfect return
One song for an imperfect world

Failure
Well, it was an English contest at the university yesterday...
But at first I want to tell the beginning of this story.
Last week I found the advertisement that there would be an English contest on 10.02.2011. I was very happy because it was a nice chance for me to prove my knowledge of the language.
I was waiting for almost 2 weeks and finally the 10th February came.
I had 4 lectures that day and the contest took place on the 5th one. That was the 1st part of that contest.
I came and got my task....
Today I've got the results. Well, I haven't got a chance to take part in the 2nd part of it...
I've got very upset about it.
So the contest showed me only my poor knowledge of English.

Not all days are beautiful...
Hi everyone!
How are you doing? Hope everything is fine :)
This day wasn't very pleasant to me.
Especially the morning was really bad. At first, the traffic was terrific today! Second, I got late at my 1st lecture. It was chemistry, and I've not missed anything interesting, fortunately.
Then things went better - we have laughed a lot at the practical lesson of maths, because of my groupmates. :)
They always make me laugh a lot.
After lectures I've met my best friend and we went home together.
So at all the day became better in the afternoon.
And how was your day today?
